Catfish

Alright, so I get it. There is a reason that people hide behind the internet. Some people are introverts, some people don't have the confidence for face to face interaction. Some people just flat.out.lie.
Why?
How can these people tell someone that they love them, propose or agree to a marriage, plan a future? All based on a lie. How?
The whole thing just blows my mind. I guess being a blogger isn't much better though? We're all just people on the other side of the keyboard, typing away about lives that only God knows if we're really living. How many bloggers offer advice, counsel, direction? To what merit? Who can verify if they are who they say they are? Aside from those of us who are family or friends before the blog, or who have met in person, who is to say that we are who we say we are?
Something to think about it the next time you "take someone's word".
