I've technically been blogging since '08, and anyone who knows me will tell you that my consistency is lacking, at best. Thus, the need for a life-update is warranted. So, here it is!
Currently living in beautiful Alexandria, Virginia while GI Joe is stationed at Fort Myer in Arlington. So far, we love our life here. Thankfully, we're much closer to our hometowns and families now, so we have been spending a lot of time on the road to visit. We'll be welcoming our very first little one this fall, and could not be more thrilled. She's already on her way to being spoiled rotten thanks to all of our loving family and friends. CalyTank, my beloved fur-children, are now (finally!) fully-grown and loving their new home in Virginia. They seem to be excited, though curious, about the arrival of their new baby sister, but I have no doubt that they'll be great fur-siblings. I've recently had a lot of time to spend with my fur-babies, since I'm now unemployed following our PCS. We walk a lot and spend a lot of time exploring the beauty of Alexandria and the Washington Metropolitan Area. I've also taken up Pinterest and all that goes with it. My crafting has been minimal, but I do make a lot of the recipes I've found and have used quite a few ideas in our nursery.
My running is on the back-burner until babygirl makes her arrival and I get the OK from the doctor, but until then, I've been planning workouts and looking into races in the spring time. I really can't wait to get back into stride (pun intended!). I never realized how much I'd miss it until I couldn't do it. The beginning of my pregnancy was a bit rocky, with quite the bought of morning (or all-the-time) sickness. That, in turn, derailed my runs. Once I was feeling well enough again, running had begun to become uncomfortable and I had to settle for walking. I am very thankful that I'm able to remain active at all, after all of the horror stories I've heard about the inability to stay active during pregnancy at all. Either way, I can't wait to lace up my running shoes and get back to where I was, of course now it will be with a jogging stroller in tow!
So that's my update. In the next few months, there will be plenty more! I'm going to do my best to stay consistent, hopefully life will allow!
